De dieren op Manor Farm kunnen de verwaarlozing en wreedheid van hun baas, Mr. Jones niet langer verdragen. Onder leiding van de varkens Snowball en Napoleon jagen de dieren hun baas en zijn vrouw het erf af en proberen een wereld te creëren waarin alle dieren gelijk zijn.
